About the Financial Adviser
After graduating from the University of New England in 1985, I completed a Diploma of Financial Planning and a Master of Business. In 2002 I attained Certified Financial Planner status with the Financial Planning Association of Australia until 2020. In 2016 I became a registered Tax (financial) adviser with the Tax Practitioners Board.
Between 1989 and 1995 I worked in the manufacturing and mining industries as an accountant, developing a strong foundation in financial analysis. Over the past 23 years I have worked for AMP, major banks such as ANZ and Westpac, Industry Superannuation Funds such as Australian Super, and for Public Sector Funds. This experience in the financial sector places me in good stead to meet the
needs of my clients, and I am committed to continuing my education to meet the ever changing needs of the profession.
At times I felt restricted working for some of the above institutions as I could only offer my clients a limited range of products and services. As a result, in 2016 I made the decision to become self- employed, working as an Authorised Representative of various licensees, currently InterPrac Financial Planning. This allows me the complete freedom and flexibility to offer the best advice, products and solutions to my clients, without the pressure of meeting secondary objectives such as activity and sales targets. I am much more comfortable working for myself as my clients’ best interests are my priority, not profits.
I pride myself on delivering unbiased solutions to my diverse client base which consists of individuals, couples, families, and retirees. Over the years I have provided advice to clients on wealth creation through investment, superannuation and retirement, and wealth protection through life, total and permanent disability, critical illness and income protection insurance.
